Huge score for a 3rd party Candidate. ONe of the strongest 3rd party runs I have ever seen.

Still an impressive run for an Independent who was not a politician with charisma and much financial backing.

The fact that an independent did this well makes me more hopeful that other independents can do well in 2010. Hoffman got 45% even when the GOP had endorsed Scozzafava. I'm curious to know if Republican Scozzafava's endorsement of the Democrat, after she dropped out, hurt Hoffman.

Yeah ... well that's because the 1st party dropped out making it a 2 party race, and I'm sure the $1,000,000 from Club for Growth helped out a lot, too. Most 3rd party candidates don't get that kind of dough.

"The Club announced this afternoon that it spent over a million dollars--$1,022,040 to be exact--in support of Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman, including just over $375,000 in donations bundled from Club members. It's direct spending totaled $645,276."

The fact is that the TWO "major" Political Parties and their Special Interest Groups had to join forces to defeat an unknown independent candidate to protect their self-serving agenda including Amnesty for their ILLEGALS.

    Quote(Scozzafava 6%.)

And 6% brain dead voters made it possible by voting for someone who dropped out, they simply threw their vote away, good job folks.

Good observation Iccat, and what does that tell us? It should be obvious.

    How the Hell

How the Hell did Hoffman NOT win? There is definately something wrong there...I smell alot of fraud that was needed to keep an outsider from breaking into the progressive circle of dems n reps.

    Definately something screwy there.

Not certain about New York but many states have early voting and she may have picked up some during that period.
