Home Depot: "You can do it. We can help."
Here is a column I wrote:
http://www.saveourstate.org/columns/032305.html
Through their financial support of day labor centers, Home Depot criminally violates federal laws prohibiting the aiding and abetting of illegal aliens. Like every other corporate citizen that gets caught with their hand in the cookie jar, Home Depot spins its pathetic excuses and justifications for selling out the American people for a buck.
In March, SaveOurState.org became the first organization to protest the retailer’s support and sponsorship of day labor centers, in addition to its partnership with the National Council of La Raza. Picked up by CNN’s Lou Dobbs, Home Depot has faced public scrutiny and scorn on a national level.
At first, the company refused to comment. However, with pressure mounting, Home Depot provided a statement for the show’s follow-up segment:
“We support day laborer centers only at the insistence of local municipalities and as a means to address community concerns, and …we do not support illegal immigration.
It is disingenuous for Home Depot to suggest that they are only funding these centers based upon local demands and community concerns. The city of Rialto, California, had a memorandum of understanding with the company to open a day labor center in the store’s parking lot. The company recently changed its mind and told the city that they did not want day laborers on their property. Nevermind the fact that Home Depot has allowed the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles to build a day labor center in its parking lot at a Los Angeles store, apparently Rialto’s concerns were not great enough.
In Burbank, California, the city has demanded that Home Depot provide $94,000 in annual funding for a day labor center as a condition to build. When Burbank wanted to aid and abet illegal aliens, Home Depot said, “You can do it. We can help.
One must wonder if the city had required Home Depot to violate civil rights laws by only hiring white males, if they would have complied. After all, a buck is a buck.
And it always comes down to money. Home Depot could sue municipalities on the grounds that they are being asked to violate federal laws in order to build stores. However, a win in court is a loss in the profit column, as cities will simply say, “Thanks, but no thanks. We don’t want day laborers urinating on our sidewalks and harassing our residents. Fewer stores equal smaller profits
Make no mistake, studies show that the overwhelming majority of day laborers are illegal aliens. Legal residents are more than capable of using legitimate employment agencies to find work. Actions speak louder than words. For Home Depot to assert that they do not support illegal immigration is incredibly insincere, especially when you consider their partnership and contributions to the National Council of La Raza.
The National Council of La Raza openly supports illegal immigration by lobbying for amnesty for illegal aliens. NCLR fights for drivers’ licenses and in-state tuition for illegal aliens and also funds the establishment of day labor centers across the country through their financial contributions to affiliate organizations. When it comes to the National Council of La Raza’s anti-American open borders agenda, Home Depot said, “You can do it. We can help.
There is no excuse or justification for selling out America through their support of day labor centers and affiliation with anti-American organizations like the National Council of La Raza. Home Depot is not above the law and should be required to follow it. In coming weeks, enormous pressure is going to continue to build. If Home Depot does not reverse course immediately, I suspect that some lawsuits may soon be filed on behalf of the American people who are tired of subsidizing corporate greed.
When it comes to kicking the illegal alien habit, SaveOurState.org says, “You can do it. We can help.

As I was drifting off to sleep last night, I had an interesting idea pop in my brain . . .
Begin idea:
Find someone in our camp that has a compelling personality and arm him/her with our talking points. Send them to the ICE Office in LA for example. Convince ICE to do a mass pickup of illegals LA County wide.
Now the fun . . . Ice would not have to do raids, with the chance of injury to folks on both sides. All ICE would have to do is drive 15 passenger vans to every Home Depot in LA on the same morning and the illegal day laborers would willingly jump in!!! If they can not provide accurate Legal proof that they are lawfully here, put 'em on a plane that day.
End idea.
I know, it would not work because ICE will not get off their comfy chairs and actually do anything. But it did get me to chuckle as I went to sleep.

The illegal border crasher thing is becoming more ridiculous by the day as our elected officials turn their heads and snub their noses at the needs and wants of the people who put them in office. Somehow, they credit 'big business' for doing the job..and continue to take money under the table I'm sure.
When I wrote to my senators the last time this week...I told them that Bush's policies were going to totally destroy the republican party...and that it had been nice to have them as my senator!!
hahahahahah...just something for them to think about as I pray for the constitution party to emerge...I think millions of us are...praying...maybe, as the need grows greater and much more obvious even to kool-aid people, some of us will even DO something for the constitution party???
