MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Eight people were arrested during a sit-in at noon Thursday at the Chipotle restaurant on Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis.

The group was part of dozens of protestors who picketed and marched in response to the abrupt firing of several hundred Chipotle workers after a federal immigration audit last month.

I added the restaurant's detailed response to my above posting. Seems like Chipotles did a lot for these employees and treated them more than fair.

I don't see the protesters supporting Chipotles and worrying about the restaurant chain getting fined for hiring illegals!

I love to watch that cable show, "Ramsay's Restaurant." In this show, he goes to ethnic restaurants and puts them to the test. In every ethnic restaurant there are employees of that culture as well as many locals. In addition there are Thai restaurants with French chefs, French restaurants with Scottish chefs, and all kinds of permutations of chefs and restaurants, so get over the selling Mexican food only with Mexican staff! Phooey!!

The protestors included fired workers and their supporters. Maria Cortez lost her job at the Lake Calhoun Chipotle. Through a translator, Cortez said she wants answers.

Translator?????????? That should have given them a clue that she wasn't American!!!!!!!!!!!!
