    MEXICO CITY – Mexico's population is expected to rise to almost 107 million by the end of 2005, and 400,000 Mexicans will emigrate during the year, the government's National Population Council said in a report released Monday.
    Estimates of annual emigration from Mexico in previous years had averaged from 350,000 to 400,000, including both documented and undocumented migrants. An estimated 10 to 11 million Mexicans now live in the United States.

    The country's population will rise by 1.02 percent in 2005, based on a birth rate of 2.11 children per woman.

    Population growth is expect to cool to 0.59 percent per year by 2030, and begin falling sometime around 2050, according to the report. Emigration will reported fall to about 380,000 per year by 2025.

    The infant mortality rate is expected to drop to 18.8 deaths per 1,000 live births.
