    Papers Scamming Immigrants Seeking Legit Work

    CHARLOTTE -- Eyewitness News has discovered a piece of paper offering a permanent work visa is scamming illegal immigrants seeking work.

    The Charlotte attorney general's office says the papers are worthless and that nearly 300 people have wasted their money.

    The illegal immigrants are paying $4,000 for what they think is a permanent work visa.

    It's written in Spanish and asks the immigrant to pay a Tennessee company the money in exchange for a guaranteed visa.

    The English portion of the papers are full of misspellings.

    Immigration attorneys say with many immigrants understanding very little English, it's easy for them to be scammed by the fake papers.
