Lou Dobbs Tonight
Thursday, May 22, 2008

Tonight, the Senate passes a war funding bill loaded with
domestic spending and Sen. Barack Obama begins his search for a
running mate. We’ll have the latest news from Washington, plus:

* The Bush Administration is rewriting visa rules to make it
easier for businesses to hire foreign workers instead of
Americans. The Labor Department released new rules on H-2B
visas, including changing the definition of "temporary" worker
from 10 months to 3 years. The administration is also giving
companies a pass on having to prove in advance that they
advertised open positions to U.S. workers.

* Families devastated by the harmful and sometimes deadly
effects of toys tainted with lead are on Capitol Hill today
urging Congress to pass tough legislation to protect children.

* A conservative Christian group has filed an ethics complaint
against federal prosecutor Johnny Sutton arguing that he
mishandled the case of Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and
Jose Compean, who were convicted of shooting a fleeing illegal
alien drug suspect. The group compares Sutton’s actions to
those of Mike Nifong, the discredited prosecutor in the Duke
Lacrosse rape case.
