A Houston man is accused of using two guns to manage 90 undocumented immigrants found at a stash house on the 1200 block of Squaw Valley, court documents show.

Pedro Piedra, 23, is accused of trying to smuggle undocumented immigrants and concealing them in the United States.

On Monday, Border Patrol spokesman Henry Mendiola said the agency apprehended 55 people at the house and an additional 35 in the surrounding area.

He said the Brownsville Police Department tipped them off to the house.

Brownsville police spokesman J.J. Treviño said officers observed people running on the railroad tracks behind the Walmart on Alton Gloor Boulevard toward Squaw Valley, so the officers advised dispatch to call Border Patrol.

According to a criminal complaint, Homeland Security Investigation agents identified Piedra after interviewing the undocumented immigrants in custody, court documents show.

When agents interviewed Piedra, he admitted to being a caretaker and that he was paid $800, court documents show.

A spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement said HSI is leading the investigation, but she didn’t indicate whether there would be more arrests.
