Former Utah Governor John Huntsman said Sunday night that he is dropping out of the presidential race, six days before the state’s Republican presidential primary, according to reports.

Earlier today, he received an endorsement from South Carolina’s largest newspaper, The State.

The paper’s editorial board praised the candidate’s principles and ‘far more impressive resume’ than Republican favourite Mitt Romney.

The New York Times reports that Mr Huntsman plans to formally announce that he’s dropping out as early as Monday.
