U.S.Border Patrol Weekly Blotter: April 29 - May 5

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior felony conviction for rape of a child in the state of Washington and had been previously removed from the United States.


El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior felony conviction for assault to commit rape and sex with a minor. The subject had also been previously removed from the United States.


El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Lordsburg, New Mexico. Records checks revealed the subject had prior convictions for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and burglary in the state of California. He had also been previously removed from the United States.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,946 pounds of marijuana, a tractor trailer, and arrested a United States Citizen (USC) at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. The subject presented himself for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer. A subsequent search revealed the marijuana inside the trailer.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,203 pounds of marijuana and a 2004 Chevrolet van near Palm View, Texas. The van was found abandoned in a residential area and the marijuana was discovered inside.

Marfa Sector – An off-duty Border Patrol agent observed a 2005 Toyota Camry with a single male occupant watching children for an extended period of time at several locations near Midland, Texas. The agent notified local law enforcement officers, who responded and made contact with the subject. Officers found two loaded handguns, a stun gun, duct tape, a pipe, flex-cuffs, gloves, ropes, and maps of city parks in Midland in the vehicle. The subject, a USC, was arrested by local law enforcement officers and charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 3,110 pounds of marijuana, a tractor-trailer, and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. A scan using non-intrusive inspection technology revealed anomalies inside the trailer. A search by agents revealed the marijuana concealed inside.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,473 pounds of marijuana near Lukeville, Arizona. Agents were tracking a group of suspected illegal aliens when the bundles were found.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested four illegal aliens and seized 295 pounds of marijuana near Douglas, Arizona. The aliens were transporting the marijuana in backpacks.

Grand Forks Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested a national of Somalia near Minot, North Dakota. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history and was previously issued a notice to appear before an immigration judge.


San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents assisted local and state law enforcement officers in the apprehension of a suicidal subject near Pine Valley, California. The subject attempted to jump off a bridge, but was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested a national of Mexico in Cathedral City, California. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for molesting a child under the age of 14 in the state of California, and was a registered sex offender.


El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested a national of Mexico in Indio, California. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for lewd and lascivious acts with a child in the state of California, and was a registered sex offender.


Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Laredo, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject was a Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13) gang member. He also had a prior felony conviction for forgery in the state of Georgia and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a Sureño gang member. Records checks revealed the subject had a criminal history in the state of Florida, and had been previously removed from the United States.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,762 pounds of marijuana, a tractor-trailer, and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer and a scan using non-intrusive inspection technology revealed anomalies within the trailer. A subsequent search by agents revealed the marijuana concealed inside.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Honduras near McAllen, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject was an MS-13 gang member and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near North Komelik, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject was a Sureño 13 gang member and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Three Points, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for sexual assault/sexual battery in the state of Indiana, and had been previously removed from the United States.


Yuma Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near San Luis, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for sexual assault of a minor in the state of Washington, and had been previously removed from the United States.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Ocotillo, California. Records checks revealed the subject was a convicted sex offender and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for sexual intercourse with a minor under 18 in the state of California, and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested two illegal aliens from Mexico and seized four assault rifles near Three Points, Arizona. The subjects were also in possession of four backpacks containing fresh food and water, and are suspected of conducting bandit activity in the area.

Spokane Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested a USC after he illegally entered the United States near Port Hill, Idaho. The subject was in possession of a falsified military identification card, and a laptop computer containing child pornography.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,073 pounds of marijuana and a vehicle near Nogales, Arizona. As the driver attempted to abscond to Mexico, he damaged several fences with the vehicle.


Yuma Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Blythe, California. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and had been previously removed from the United States.
