    Multi-million dollar fentanyl smuggling and distribution organization dismantled in Salt Lake City from ICE-initiated investigation
    Suspect Aaron Michael Shamo admitted to having about $1 million in cash stored in his home safe. Officials also searched a stash location in South Jordan, Utah, as part of this investigation.

    Alleged child rapist from Honduras deported by ICE Salt Lake City officers
    According to Honduran officials, Marco Antonio Argueta-Rubio, 23, allegedly forced a 13-year-old girl into his vehicle, transported her to a motel and raped her. In June 2016, Argueta-Rubio was apprehended in the Texas Rio Grande Valley while attempting to illegally enter the United States. In July, Honduran officials issued a warrant of arrest for Argueta-Rubio after he failed to report for court proceedings.

    Dominican national accused of child rape arrested by ICE following release from local custody
    Winston Enrique Perez Pilarte aka Josue Duran-Cortes, 40, was arrested and charged by the Philadelphia Police Department with attempted rape, unlawful sexual contact with a minor, aggravated indecent assault, unlawful restraint, endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, indecent assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

    Florida man sentenced to 350 years for child pornography charges
    According to testimony and evidence presented at trial, on nine separate occasions, between October 2014 and March 2015, Joshua Adam Tatro, 24, of Merritt Island, produced images and videos depicting him sexually abusing a three-year-old child. He also used a messaging app on his phone to send and receive images depicting child pornography and uploaded images of child pornography onto an online account that he maintained.

    Rhode Island man sentenced to 20 years for sex trafficking a minor
    On June 30, 2015, HSI agents, Providence Police detectives and members of the Human Trafficking Task Force located the victim in Harris’ apartment in Providence and rescued her. Investigators discovered numerous nude photographs of the 17-year-old victim on Harris’ cell phone.

    Paul Carter, 46, of Milwaukee, pleaded guilty in the Eastern District of Wisconsin Nov. 21 to eight counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and one count of conspiracy to commit forced labor and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion.

    Robert Ruben Ornelas, 65, of Santa Ana, a onetime school teacher and girls’ softball coach, was found guilty Thursday of seven counts – two counts of engaging in sexual conduct in a foreign place, three counts of producing child pornography, and two counts of possessing child pornography.

    ICE South Texas officers deport Salvadoran man wanted for aggravated homicide
    Jose Martin Cruz-Martinez, 26, was flown to El Salvador Nov. 15 and turned over to Salvadoran officials. The El Salvador arrest warrant states that on Aug. 8, 2014, Cruz-Martinez shot and killed a man who was a passenger riding in a motorcycle taxi.

    Victor Larry Lee Wright, 33, pleaded guilty in August admitting he videotaped his molestation of a 7-year-old child. According to court records, Wright then distributed those images to an undercover HSI special agent via a peer-to-peer file sharing program.

    Former Doctor Sentenced for Selling Oxycodone Prescriptions


    NOV 18 (NEW YORK)


    Michael J. Ferguson Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration New England Division and Deirdre M. Daly, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that Brittany Esposito, 27, of Wallingford, pleaded guilty before Senior U.S. District Judge Alfred V. Covello in Hartford to one count of distribution of heroin. The charge stems from an ongoing statewide initiative targeting narcotics dealers who distribute heroin, fentanyl or opioids that cause death or serious injury to users.
