    ICE, Caribbean Corridor Strike Force seize 1,786 kilograms of cocaine
    During the arrest of Sandy Hernandez Monday, HSI special agents found more than $30,000 in cash, three weapons and approximately 1,786 kilograms of cocaine. Of the six persons in the indictment, three were arrested while the others are awaiting extradition from the Dominican Republic.

    Charlotte-area MS-13 gang members sentenced to life in prison following ICE HSI investigation
    Miguel Zelaya, 22, an unlawfully present Honduran national, and Luis Ordonez-Vega, 37, a Guatemalan national, were both sentenced to life in prison Monday by U.S. District Judge Robert J. Conrad Jr. A federal jury in Charlotte previously convicted both men in April on conspiracy to participate in racketeering activity (RICO), murder in aid of racketeering, use or carry of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.

    ICE HSI investigation leads to arrest of 6 in US, Mexico in international sex trafficking scheme
    Over a two-day period, authorities arrested four defendants in Mexico and two in Queens, New York, as part of a coordinated bilateral law enforcement action. The six defendants are Raul Romero-Granados, aka Chicarcas and El Negro, 32; Isaac Lomeli-Rivera, aka Giro, 34; Efrain Granados-Corona, aka Chavito and Cepillo, 41; Alan Romero-Granados, aka El Flaco, 24; Pedro Rojas-Romero, 37; and Emilio Rojas-Romero, 34. Juan Romero-Granados, aka Chegoya and El Guero, remains a fugitive.

    ICE removes former Orange County taxi driver convicted of terrorism charges
    Ahmed Nasir Tahlil Mohamud, 41, formerly of Anaheim Calif., was repatriated on board commercial flights escorted by Los Angeles-based ERO deportation officers as far as Nairobi, Kenya. After arriving in Nairobi, the deportation officers transferred Mohamud to a non-stop flight bound for Mogadishu and Somali authorities subsequently confirmed his arrival.

    Edwin Antonio Torres, 27, was flown to El Salvador Nov. 4 onboard a charter flight coordinated by ICE’s Air Operations (IAO) Unit. Upon arrival, Torres was turned over to officials from El Salvador’s Civilian National Police (PNC).

    16 arrested in multiagency operation targeting Tucson-based heroin trafficking ring
    More than 100 law enforcement personnel from a dozen federal, state, and local agencies participated in the operation. Overall, investigators served a total of 32 state arrest warrants at 12 locations around the Tucson metropolitan area. Sixteen defendants are now in custody.

    Jose Alberto Orozco-Ramirez, 48, was the subject of an Interpol warrant for rape against a minor. He entered ICE custody May 26. Orozco-Ramirez was originally admitted to the United States as a nonimmigrant B-2 visitor June 3, 2003, but exceeded his stay.

    Mexican man sentenced to 6 years in federal prison for trafficking methamphetamine
    Nieblas-Ruelas and co-defendant Massiel Segoviano-Fierro, 25, also a Mexican national illegally residing in the United States, were arrested in November 2015. They were charged Nov. 23, 2015, by criminal complaint with conspiracy and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, in Bernalillo Country New Mexico.

    Daniel Vicuna, 21, from Del Rio, Texas, pleaded guilty to the charges Dec. 11, 2015, and was sentenced Oct. 26 by U.S. District Judge Alia Moses to 109 months imprisonment.

    Twelve Arrested for Conspiracy to Distribute Heroin, Meth and Cocaine


    NOV 03 (SEATTLE)


    Eleven people were arrested yesterday in Washington and Nevada in connection with a large drug smuggling and distribution ring operating in four western Washington counties. An additional person was already in immigration custody. The arrests coincided with the execution of 24 court-authorized search warrants for properties located in King, Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Yakima, and Franklin Counties. The searched locations included a restaurant in Everett, an auto body shop in Sedro Wooley, and a car dealership in Mount Vernon, Washington. Defendants made their initial appearances in U.S. District Court in Seattle today. Those arrested in Nevada will make their initial appearances there before being transferred to the Western District of Washington.
