So I guess if others in your village breaks US laws and is profiting from it that makes it OK for you to break the law too

It is irresponsibility from breaking our laws to having children you cannot afford feed and is NOT Americans fault .

They listen to tales of riches in the USA and think it is OK to steal from us.The disrespect and lack of responsibility is infuriating.

So far, the remittances Tio has been sending home - between $200 and $400 a month - aren't quite what the family expected.

"We are the same as when he left," says Hermalinda. "We see families of other immigrants who have been gone two years start to build houses and buy their own land. We are waiting for the opportunity to improve our lives."

Uh-huh. And this is precisely why, within the next year or so, the whole lot of them will be living illegally here in the US right along with "Tio".

It won't be long until he finds out that the only way to achieve what his neighbors have gotten....both here and at home.......is for the whole family to come over and start the feeding frenzy on "freebies", benefits, credit card, and loan fraud, and every other crime imagineable, the same damned way the rest of the illegals build their "better life".

While his wife and seven children back in Guatemala struggle to redefine their family while its patriarch is away, Tio's new all-male household is his only support system for navigating a foreign country that prefers he had stayed home.

Yea, he is a real "family man" isn't he? He had to have 7 kids he couldn't afford, so he gets himself smuggled into America. What a real master of the household he turned out to be.

YOU ARE RIGHT TIO, YOU ARE IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY UNINVITED AND WE WOULD PREFER YOU HAD STAYED HOME.
RIP Butterbean! We miss you and hope you are well in heaven.-- Your ALIPAC friends

What are these people trying to do? Keep up with the Islamic fanatics when it comes to having children? Doesn't over-breeding lead to the decline of native populations?

I thought so too but then again, I'm just a racist xenophobe so what the hell do I know

Seriously though, this one had me puzzled as well. Shouldn't that kind of money be a veritable windfall in most foreign countries? Heck, most of US would see an extra $200 - $400/month as quite lucky.

What, exactly, was his family expecting..........to become millionaires?

Actually, yes. Each of these families want to become the "wealthiest" in their towns. They don't think of tomorrow, only today. What did they do with the money he had already sent home? Instead of investing in growing their own food, they buy food. When it's gone, they whine that they're hungry. With a garden, they could have eaten more.

They will do NOTHING to better their situation at home, they play the blame game.
