IA Groups tell AZ newspapers to not report immig. status

Illegal Alien Groups Tell Arizona Papers Not To Report Immigrant Status
    By Digger

Three organizations that support illegal aliens in this country have told local Phoenix media in Arizona to no longer report the immigration status of criminals in their news reports. They say it would just add fuel to the fire after citizens of the community stood up and demanded an end to employment of illegal aliens in Arizona. This is the tactic used by someone who is losing a fight. They now claim that because the illegal aliens will soon be without jobs that those who stood up for enforcement were just hateful and that the media reporting that illegal aliens are committing crimes would just make them stand even stronger.

It is pretty sad that these organizations even feel like they have the right to try and demand that the news should censor itself. They are not government organizations (well maybe they are Mexican government orgs, but I digress..) trying to keep top secret info out of the hands of terrorists, they are support groups for criminals in this country that are trying to hide the truth of the criminals impact on society.

I think it really is time that these groups who are openly aiding and abetting illegal aliens be investigated and start losing their non-profit status. Most of them act like organizations that could be charged under the RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization) Act. As in this case they are sure to bring up that 40% of the community is Hispanic and make a veiled threat to the media that if they report the facts, which in this case would be the legal status of criminals, they are being hateful toward Hispanics.

In addition, if most of these groups donor lists are really investigated I'm sure you'll find the footprints of foreign governments making donations - either directly or via corporate structures - in order to influence our laws and coverage of illegal aliens in this country.

    12 News: http://www.azcentral.com/12news/news/ar ... 08-CR.html

Luz Sarmina, President and CEO of Valle del Sol, said she's concerned all Latinos in the Valley are being targeted, regardless of their immigration status. "Latinos are over 40 percent here in this Valley," said Sarmina. "To be hateful towards 40 percent plus of the population is only going to lead to trouble."

But protesters at the day labor work center in North Phoenix Tuesday said the issue isn't about race. "The people are angry and the people have spoken," said Sharon Ferguson. "We are tired of the crime. We are tired of the cost of the health care."
You go Sharon Ferguson! Give 'em hell!

If the media stops reporting immigration status of criminals because of this, many people may start to assume that legal Hispanics (citizens and legal permanent residents) are the ones committing all these crimes, and that will lead to many U.S. citizens calling for large reductions in legal immigration from Latin American countries-those groups demanding that the media stop reporting immigration status will just aid in furthering the idea that legal and illegal Hispanics commit crimes in larger numbers than the rest of society.

This is going way too far. These people have no more right to instruct the media on how to do their reporting than the IAs they are protecting have any right to be here.

Funny how the same people screaming from roof tops about the supposed "constitutional rights" of those who have no rights here, are quick to try and suppress the constitutional rights of others.

I, for one, am going to immediately begin asking our local media to not give in to this.

And yes, I fully agree that these organizations need to be investigated, prosecuted, and treated like the subversive, criminal organizations that they are. But, living in Maricopa County, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Andrew Thomas and Joe Arpaio aren't already working on that.

This is the unwritten policy in Chicago's newspapers. You have to read between the lines (which they do their best to blur) in every paper, add up all of the vague "facts" and then draw your conclusion. Unfortunately for the aiding and abetting crowd, once you piece together the facts they hesitantly give, it's not rocket science.

    Agree with azwreath + ....

There is a strong public disclosure aspect which mandates (IMHO) that the publication of stories about IAs, their identities, residence locations, and most importantly, places of employment continue. The public has a right to know who is hiring illegal workers and to know where such people/businesses are. Once prosecuted, this becomes public information anyway. So, there is no justifiable reason for not forwarding that information more broadly to the public.
