IA- Illegals ordered held to testify
Immigrants ordered held to testify at trial
associated press • December 19, 2009
Cedar Rapids, Ia. - Twenty illegal immigrants who were going to be released as witnesses in the case against a former kosher slaughterhouse manager will stay in custody because another manager wants them to testify at his trial.
The witnesses were being held to testify in the immigration trial of former Agriprocessors manager Sholom Rubashkin. Rubashkin was convicted on 86 counts of financial fraud last month. Immigration charges against him were dropped.
Attorneys for Brent Beebe, the plant's former operations manager, asked that the witnesses, who worked at the plant, be held in the United States to testify in Beebe's Jan. 19 trial on immigration and document fraud. The attorneys' motion has been approved.
The Agriprocessors plant in Postville was the site of a massive immigration raid in May 2008.

Talk about one big joke.
Sure.....drop the immigration charges and send a message to employers that it's just no big deal to not just hire illegal aliens but be part and parcel to outrageous fraud committed in the process and mainly carried out by your own company.
As for the financial fraud conviction.....so what?
Has anyone bothered looking into what connection and interest the Rubshkins still have in Agriprocessors under the "new ownership"?
Odds are that they are still involved.
I happen to work for a family of Russian jews and have gotten just a small peek into how their business is conducted.
That small peek was enough to show me that once the particular family organization has acquired an investment.....and most definitely a prosperous one.....they DON'T surrender it to anyone for any reason. Not even when they appeared to have been forced to legally.
Just in my own employer's case....and it took ALOT of effort in the doing....I've found them at the end of a very long line of seemingly unrelated persons, corporations, types of businesses, you name it. Just one big tangled maze with them hiding at the very end of it.
So I'm sorry....but any appearances at all giving the impression that this criminal family organization has gotten their due and comeuppance, losing anything because of it is just that....an appearance.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

You cannot trust them actually testify the may plead the 5th. It happened here in Miami. The Coast Guard was chasing a boat full of Cubans in the process of being smuggled into the United States. The driver had no regard for life and people were injured and one died. They were treated and held to testify against the smuggler. Once they were on land after being treated they were allowed to stay tanks to the wet foot dry foot policy. In the end not one testified against the smugglers and the Cubans once again got a laugh at our expense.

Of course, that doesn't mean that their attorneys won't strike deals for them in exchange for testimony....if it already hasn't been done and just hasn't been made public for fear of it effecting something to do with the trial.
But in any event, I do agree with you that they can't exactly be trusted to hold up their end of any deal.....they've consistently shown that they can't be trusted to do that.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

I bet that the lawyers and state attorney's office already has a deal in place. This has been done in cases in different states. Once they testify and and they start to through the immigration process. If it is not approved and they appeal then many just relocate elsewhere.

No....IF they want to be allowed to leave, it's so they can turn right around, come back, and just take up new stolen identities someplace else. In this case, even maybe right back at Agriprocessors because I personally don't believe for one minute that anything has changed with that place.....they've just learned to be more careful is all
