Fourteen days of jail time. That's all a man accused of trying to smuggle illegal aliens got for the crime.

27-year-old Jose "E" Ramirez Jr. was sentenced this morning to three years probation on a single count of human smuggling.

He was also sentenced to 14 days in jail but since he has already spent that much time behind bars he is now free.

Fruita Police caught Ramirez driving on I-70 with 18 illegal aliens inside his vehicle.

Ramirez told police they paid him $30 each to drive them to Kansas.

The suspected illegal aliens were taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
