The Bay County Immigration Task Force detained two individuals for unlawful entry to the United States on Tuesday after a traffic stop near the intersection of Back Beach Road and State 79.

The deputies had received information concerning illigal immigrants in the area and conducted a traffic stop on a van with an Alabama license plate, according to a news release from BCSO.

The driver of the van, Enrique Cruz-Mendez, was arrested for driving without a valid drivers license and he and his passenger, Hector Ramos-Lopez, were held when an investigation revealed they were both in the country illegally.

Both are being processed for deportation proceedings, according to the release.
