Kim Martinez reports

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents took at least 30 suspected undocumented immigrants into custody at a pallet manufacturing company in west Phoenix Wednesday morning.

IFCO has dozens of plants across the nation, including one at 59th Avenue and Washington Street where the raid took place.

ICE checked the status of about 50 employees at the plant and said that they made about 30 arrests.

The workers say the whole operation went down fairly fast and those without identification papers were taken away. ICE is running background checks on those taken into custody and preparing them for deportation if they find out they are in the country illegally.
