GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has arrested a Vietnamese man in Grand Forks as part of a national roundup.

The 33-year-old man convicted for possession and delivery of a controlled substance was the only arrest in North Dakota during the seven-day operation.

The operation comes a month after Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced that officials would focus on deporting the most serious criminal immigrants. Nationwide, 2,901 people were arrested.

Scott Baniecke (BAN'-ick-ee), the field office director for ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations in Minnesota, which oversees North Dakota, says arresting fugitives and criminal immigrants remains a priority for ICE to make communities safer.
