ICE arrests 80 illegal immigrants during 4-day operation

Authorities arrested 80 illegal immigrants in Arizona last week as part of an operation by an interagency task force. Arrests were made in Prescott, Sedona and Flagstaff.

"I believe the overwhelming majority of arrests were made at private residences," said Vincent Picard with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

"We did make some arrests at work places, but the majority of arrests occurred at people's homes, where they were living."

The operation ran from Nov. 19 through Nov. 22 in partnership with the U.S. Marshals Service, the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office and the Prescott Valley, Sedona and Prescott police departments.

Fourteen of the 80 immigrants were immigration fugitives, meaning they've ignored final orders for deportation or who've returned to the U.S. after being deported.

Many of the immigrants were from Mexico.

"We want to send a strong message to those who ignore deportation orders handed down by the nation's immigration judges that ICE is going to use all of the tools and resources at its disposal to find you and send you home," said Field Office Director Katrina S. Kane in a press release.

ICE has made over 34,000 arrests nationwide in the 2008 fiscal year, more than two times the total from two years ago.

Lets go ICE... only 20 - 40 Million more to go... for each of the ones you just arrested I am sure 100 - 200 more just entered Illegally

Maybe others in the neiborhoods that were raided will start thinking about going home on there own.
