ICE arrests 84 illegal immigrants in Dallas area
Associated Press - December 19, 2008 7:45 PM ET
DALLAS (AP) - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested 84 illegal immigrants in the Dallas area this week.
An ICE statement issued today says the arrests came in a 5-day push in 18 different cities that ended yesterday. Sixty-4 of those arrested had final deportation orders, while the 20 aothers are immigration violators agents encountered during the operation.
The agency says 4 of those arrested had either outstanding warrants for their arrests or previous criminal convictions.

why they keep coming back
The welfare application for food stamps in my state reads:
You can apply for and get food stamp benefits for eligible family members, even if
your family includes other members who are not eligible because of immigration
status. For example, immigrant parents may apply for food stamp benefits for their
U.S. citizen or qualified immigrant children, even though the parents may not be
eligible for benefits.
➤ You do not have to provide immigration status information, social security numbers,
or documents for any family members who are not eligible for food stamp benefits
because of immigration status and who are not asking for food stamp benefits.
➤ Using food stamp benefits will not affect your immigration status or the immigration
status of your family. Immigration information is private and confidential."
I say this calls for a revolt!"We had to fight the enemy without in the Falklands. We always have to be aware of the enemy within, which is much more difficult to fight and more dangerous to liberty." - Margaret Thatcher

I think we all know why the main focus is on those that have ignored a deportation order. Those are the folks that will not be eligible for a future amnesty. An endeavor to legalize those already under a deportation order will never fly. However, the dream to give amnesty to those not considered criminals will continue to be the goal of the illegal alien advocates.
84 illegals in five days is not what I would call getting the biggest bang possible out of our buck. continued employment raids, where we can round up hundreds of illegals in a day is where the real value to our dollar is to be had. Continued raids of this nature will eventually scare the illegal alien hiring employers into line. These raids will give us a mixed basket that will include some who have previously ignored deportation orders. Additionally, such raids will net us many who have returned after deportation, fake document users, fraudulent SSN abusers, etc. IMO, ICE needs to work smarter, not necessarily harder. In other words, stretch our tax dollars for maximum value.
Furthermore, we need to go after the families of those arrested. Yep, we need to make it a priority to deport the whole family unit, not just one single family member. Those leaving their illegal wife and children (including anchor babies) behind often taken pride in declaring that they will return to be with their family. Heck, some of them even have fathers, mothers, and illegal alien siblings here. Proper investigating and interviewing techniques should be able to ascertain the family status of an illegal. I'm sick and tired of scratching at the surface in our attempt at getting rid of illegal aliens (a few here and a few there). We need to go for complete eradication and that means tearing them out by the roots (remove all the reasons they have for being here, i.e., family members, jobs, anchor baby citizenship, rights to K-12 education, etc., etc.
There, I feel better now. Thanks for allowing me to rant."The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" ** Edmund Burke**

Black Phoebe: I didn't know that...that is outrageous....La RAZA, LULAC and MALDEF are always denying that illegal aliens aren't qualified to receive any kind of welfare and that they don't take advantage of it.....you should make sure to publicize that application ....send a letter to the editor of your local newspapers...
Tiime and again the OBL distorts the facts...when in many states and local municipalities there are "dont' ask , don't tell" policies in place such as the one that you describe whereby illegal aliens CAN and DO access a myriad of public benefits courtesy of taxpaying, U.S. citizens and legal residents. In this day and age where states are having to make difficult and painful cuts in services, often to the detriment of very needy Americans ....there should be absolutely no illegal aliens receiving any public assistance of any kind.
