A dozen criminal undocumented immigrants living near York were arrested during a six-day operation that ended Oct. 9, according to a news release.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Enforcement and Removal Operations took the undocumented immigrants into custody, focusing on arresting individuals who were public safety threats, according to the release.

Those arrested were from all over the world, and many have committed multiple offenses, according to the release.

The officers who conducted the Operation Cross Check were from the York Enforcement and Removal Operations field office, according to the release.

The foreign nationals detained during the operation who aren't being criminally prosecuted will be processed for removal from the United States, according to the release. Those with outstanding deportation orders or who returned to the United States illegally after being deported are subject to removal from the United States, according to the release.

Those remaining are in ICE custody awaiting a hearing before an immigration judge or have pending travel arrangements for removal, according to the release.
