ICE Arrests Salvadoran Illegal Convicted of Child Sex Crimes in Massachusetts

An illegal alien convicted of sex crimes against a minor was arrested in Massachusetts by federal immigration agents.

On Friday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the recent apprehension of Jose Bladimir Gavidia Hernandez, a 37-year-old citizen of El Salvador.
Gavidia Hernandez illegally entered the United States some years ago at an unknown location and on an unknown date.

“The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Police Department arrested Gavidia Aug. 31, 2021, and charged him with entice a child under 16 and obscene material to a minor,” ICE explained in a press release.

Gavidia Hernandez was apparently released back onto the streets and was allowed to roam free for more than a year.

On Oct. 8, 2022, he was arrested by the Boston Police Department for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

On Nov. 1, 2022, he was convicted of enticement of a child under 16 and obscene material to a minor and sentenced to two years in prison and three years of probation.

Upon completion of his prison sentence, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) agents took Gavidia Hernandez into custody on June 14 at the Suffolk County House of Correction in Boston.

“Jose Bladimir Gavidia Hernandez unlawfully entered the United States and committed deviant crimes against a minor in Boston,” ICE ERO Boston Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons said in a statement.

“He poses a substantial threat to the children of our Massachusetts neighborhoods that we cannot allow. This case is an example of law enforcement agencies cooperating to enhance public safety. The Suffolk County House of Correction honoring our immigration detainer ensures that this individual, convicted of sex crimes against a child, will not have the opportunity to reoffend.”

Gavidia Hernandez was presumably entered into deportation proceedings following his arrest.
