Mexican governors won't go to Phoenix
Capitol Alert: Mexican governors won't go to Phoenix

To protest Arizona's new immigration law, Mexico's border governors will boycott the 28th annual U.S.-Mexico Border Governors Conference if it is held as scheduled in Phoenix.
The decision was revealed in Sacramento Wednesday by Juan Tintos, coordinator of public relations for the state of Baja California. Tintos and Mexican federal customs, emergency response and trade representatives were at California's Capitol to talk with state legislators about mutual trade and border interests.
Janice Brewer, Arizona's governor, is the chairwoman of the next border governors' conference, which is scheduled to take place in Phoenix in early September.
Tintos said at a Capitol press conference that Baja California Gov. Jose Guadalupe Osuna Millan "summoned the other five governors of bordering states and they all agreed and it was communicated to the governor of Arizona that . . . if the meeting were to take place in Phoenix in September that none of the six governors would be present."
"We are not going where we are not welcome," Tintos said as some California Latino legislators with Tintos nodded in agreement.
Tintos said the conference might be moved to a city in California or New Mexico.
On a border governors' website, Brewer is quoted saying: "As Chair of the XXVIII Border Governors Conference, I am excited to host this year's event, and I welcome you all -- fellow Governors, delegates and federal representatives to the Grand Canyon State."
Arizona's controversial new law and follow-up legislation, signed by Brewer last month, require all local police in Arizona to ask a person to see proof of legal status if an officer, while enforcing another law, has a reasonable suspicion someone might be an illegal immigrant.
The law makes it a state crime for an immigrant to not carry proof of legal status and it allows police to detain a person. Opponents say the law is unconstitutional and will lead to racial profiling. Supporters say police will apply the law narrowly to avoid racial profiling.
Mexico is California's largest foreign trade partner, and the San Diego-Tijuana ports of entry are the world's busiest border crossing area. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has attended the border conference. He opposes the Arizona law.

How do we get the message to them that they are not welcome here in California?

Doing the right things always has unintended rewards. Someone should ask "why is there a Border Governors Conference with Mexico to begin with?" And "who pays for it" and "what do they talk about, what is the purpose, who benefits"?
There have been no benefits that I've seen from such conferences. Mexico has done nothing to help our country. Its people violate our national sovereignty, disrespect our citizens and spit on our rule of law. Its government and businesses have stolen our jobs, industries and money supply. Its criminals have set up operations in 230 American cities to run drugs, gangs, car thefts rings, document fraud rings, tax fraud, tax evasion, tax credit welfare, illegal labor networks and illegal smuggling networks.
Mexico wants to boycott Arizona? Fine! Hoo-Ray! The American People will boycott Mexico, repeal NAFTA, and go to the Grand Canyon on Spring Break instead of Cancun.
Problem Solved. Move On. Now, pass the FairTax.

I personally hope they stay home. No good comes to the USA when they come up here and try to tell us what to do when they need to be home in their own country telling their own government and people what to do.

Mexican government
Read these boycott stories carefully.
" IF" the conference is scheduled in Phoenix, we will not attend.
This is the reality of most of the highly published boycott announcements. "IF" we were going to schedule something, we would not do it in Arizona. With budgets being cut, and airline tickets costing more, travel to anywhere is less likely.
