must be political ... a sudden flurry of ICE fining companies in Maine, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, for employing illegals .... ICE has known about illegals working at these companies for years ... there are approximately 8 million illegals working at on-the-books American jobs, by using false, or stolen, SS numbers. ICE, via the SS administration, sent out 9 million NO-MATCH letters last year ... employers, because of lack of enforcement, mostly ignore these letters. The shame of it all ... it's way past time for, we, the people, to hit the streets, railing against this situation ... it has gone on for far too long. Illegals have to go.

BOSTON — Ashland business STAT Products, Inc., was fined $1,014 by the federal government for hiring illegal workers, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office said Wednesday.

Stat Products, located on Butterfield Drive off Rte. 126, manufactures prescription drug labels, according to the company's website.

The company, along with 16 others in the state, were fined after an investigation of I-9 forms by ICE's Homeland Security Investigations, according to a press release.

Together, Massachusetts employers this year were fined $349,619, ICE said. In 2012 the agency conducted 35 inspections of employers' I-9 forms, an increase from the 30 annual inspections the agency has for the past three years.

Last year, Homeland Security Investigations fined Bay State companies $175,000.

Fines are simply another cost of doing business. Until executives of companies which hire illegals are put into jail, nothing will change - and 'Bama will be able to claim that he's protecting American jobs.

I.C.E. fines companies around the country every week, and has been for years.
But most of them never get any press coverage.
Once in a while the press jumps on the coverage
because it's a slow news day and they have to report on something.
I.C.E. can't make the media cover what they are doing.
