ICE Nabs 115 In Broward County

It is a start but many of us could nab that many in a day or two. In the comments after this article one person claimed that ICE could pick that many on his job site.

Broward County: Immigration sweep nets 115
    September 30, 2008
An immigration sweep last week netted 115 immigrants, some undocumented and others who had ignored deportation orders, including 33 in Broward County, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said Monday.

Of those arrested, 18 had convictions on sexual assault, drugs, theft, assault or weapons charges, including two Fort Lauderdale men: Allan Leopold Gordon, a Jamaican national, and Emmanuel Saintil, a native of Haiti. An immigration judge ordered Gordon, 49, deported in 1997 after he was convicted of drug and weapons charges. Saintil, 27, was convicted of a sex offense against a child under 16. In 2006, he was ordered deported.

It is getting a little tiring reading they rounded up people who
    'ignored deportation orders'.

Just how many people 'ordered' deported actually get deported.

Why not take them to the border and make sure they get across. Take their pictures, their fingerprints and if they return, let them know that prison time is awaiting them.

As for the child molestor, what does 'ordered deported' actually mean?

This seems like they are not only NOT deporting anyone, they are wasting a lot of money doing it.

Deportation orders are a joke. They tell basically tell people you have 30 days to take care of your affairs and report to us. Many people just pack up and go elsewhere. That is also is a factor in the foreclosure rate as they often times leave the property. I have a cocaine addicted and unemployed illegal who is shacking up with some woman and he had a deportation order and had to be out in July and is still here. I call ICE every week about him.

I'm getting the picture this government is simply refusing to do anything about this.

They pretend with the raids, but then what percent of these people actually are sent home?

Are they rounding up the same 1,000 all over the country - time after time?
