Lou Dobbs Tonight
Wednesday, April 2, 2008

Tonight, the mayor of a town in Puebla, Mexico arrived in New
York yesterday to face federal drug trafficking charges for
distributing cocaine in the United States. We’ll have that
story. Plus:

* While scientists have made advances in studying autism, much
remains a mystery. Researchers are trying to find out if it
the condition is becoming more prevalent, or is it simply being
diagnosed more frequently. We’ll take a closer look tonight,
and talk with researchers who are studying the brain to try to
pinpoint the earliest signs of the disease to find out what
triggers autism in young children.

* Every state except Maine has said it will comply with the
federal Real ID Act. Today is the deadline for Maine to file
for an extension without its drivers’ licenses becoming null in
the eyes of the federal government. We’ll have the latest
details.

* Former Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean
have been in prison for more than 14 months. Their 11- and
12-year sentences for shooting and wounding an illegal alien
drug smuggler are now on appeal in federal court. The Director
of Federal Prisons is expected to visit Ramos to consider
taking him out of solitary confinement thanks to the efforts of
two congressmen. We’ll have the details.

* With homeowners across the country facing foreclosure,
Congress has yet to act. The government was quick to bail out
Bear Stearns, but what about America’s middle class?
