C’ville gets expert advice

CARPENTERSVILLE – As U.S. lawmakers struggle to find compromise on an immigration-reform bill, officials in Carpentersville debate related policies at home.

The Carpentersville Village Board hosted an informational immigration forum last night at Village Hall.

Village President Bill Sarto said the purpose of the forum was to hear expert advice on what could happen to Carpentersville if it passed a tabled official-language ordinance, and other measures aimed at curtailing illegal immigration.

“I’m sure anyone who subscribes to a newspaper, watches TV or listens to the radio is aware that Carpentersville is involved in a discussion regarding illegal immigration,â€
