Mexican military detains S.D. man, seizes drugs

TIJUANA: The Mexican military has detained a San Diego man on drug charges. Alejandro Sandoval Rodriguez, 24, is one of two men detained by members of the 2nd Motorized Cavalry, according to a military communiqué released yesterday.

Sandoval and Ramon de Jesus Milanes were stopped in Tijuana with $41,000 in U.S. currency, a kilogram of marijuana, 620 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 52 grams of heroin, the military said.

Soldiers also seized a 2004 Ford Expedition registered to Sandoval. The SUV has California plates. –S.D.
