2 Mesa men arrested in targeting teens for sex

Two Mesa men were arrested Thursday in separate cases targeting teens for sex acts.

Enrique Munoz, 28, of Mesa, was arrested on a charge of stalking after admitting to police he was following a 13-year-old girl in his vehicle as she walked home and that he wanted to have sex with her, court records say.

In an unrelated case, Sammy Perez Estrada, Jr., 54, of Mesa, was arrested on charges of sexual conduct with a minor after he grabbed a 14-year-old boy who walked by his house and brought him into his house and sexually assaulted him.

In Munoz’s case, court records say police responded to a call just before 9 p.m. Thursday that a man was attempting to pick up a 13-year-old girl who was walking home in the area of 45 N. Phyllis, near Main Street between Dobson and Price roads. When an officer arrived at the scene, he saw the girl pointing at a vehicle. The man, who is an illegal immigrant, admitted to police that he was following the girl to have sex with her and that his pants were unzipped.

In the other incident, a 14-year-old boy was walking around his neighborhood about 6:30 p.m. when he noticed a man standing in a driveway in the 7600 block of East Holmes. Perez asked the boy if he wanted to make $100, before grabbing his arm and bringing him into his house, court records say. Court records say Perez then sexually assaulted the boy numerous times before the teen was able to kick the man in the groin and run away.
