Two Suspected Illegal Aliens Arrested In Livingston County
April 18, 2008

4/18/08 - Two men believed to be illegal aliens are behind bars for stealing thousands of dollars in clothing from malls all the way from Chicago to Livingston County. The two men both had driver's licenses from Puerto Rico and were arrested Thursday afternoon after authorities confiscated more than $3000 in clothing from two stores at the Tanger Outlet Mall. Livingston County Sheriff Bob Bezotte tells WHMI that one of the men would divert an employee's attention while the other would load clothing into empty shopping bags. He says both suspects are believed to be illegal aliens and federal immigration officials are investigating. Bezotte says they were contacted about the pair by Oakland County authorities that were working with the FBI on a tip. Authorities are still working to recover all of the stolen merchandise. Both men remain lodged in the Livingston County Jail pending their arraignment.
