Law enforcement agencies have responded to more cases of undocumented immigrants recently.

Bismarck police say they've picked up 11 undocumented migrants in the last month.

The Grand Forks Sector of the U.S. Border Patrol says they captured 64 percent more people in 2014 than the year before.

The majority of those cases involved immigrants from Mexico and Central America.

"The primary reason is attributed to the jobs that follow the oil boom in the Bakken region. It could be any number of things including construction into food service to truck driving," said Douglas Harrison, deputy chief patrol agent with U.S. Border Patrol in the Grand Forks sector.

Harrison says the Border Patrol has assigned agents throughout the state to cut down response times and to help other law enforcement agencies.
