Illegal alien charged with raping teenager in Texas

On Friday, police in Tomball arrested Mario Munoz-Verudes, 60, after he reportedly raped a 17-year-old girl over the previous weekend.

The man claims to be a spiritual healer and lured the girl to his home by offering to perform a ritualistic blessing over her, police said.

Tomball Police Det.Ron McGullion told KTRK: "[Munoz-Verudes] Proclaimed himself to be a religious man, attended church regularly, supposedly, and was able to do some witchcraft or some spells."

When the girl arrived at Munoz-Verudes' home, she found two bare mattresses lying on the floor.

The man lit some incense and then attacked her, placing his hand over her mouth as she tried to scream, according to an arrest report.

Munoz-Verdes reportedly pinned her to the mattress, tore the clothes from her body and raped her.

Following the attack, the Mexican national told her to get dressed and leave, and warned her`that if she reported the rape, he would place a curse on her.

The girl went home and told her parents.

She was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital where it was confirmed that a violent sexual assault had occurred.
During the course of their investigation, police discovered that the man is in the country illegally and failed to appear at an immigration court hearing in January.

Munoz-Verudes has been charged with sexual assault and is currently being held at the Harris County Jail on an immigration detainer.
