A Marshalltown, Iowa man was arrested and charged with sexual abuse Thursday, after allegedly abusing a 14-year-old female.

Oscar Hernandez, 20, of 1605 W. Main St., was charged with third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony. Additionally, police say Hernandez was in possession of fraudulent documents, a Class D felony.

“Mr. Hernandez is charged with the sexual abuse of a 14-year-old female on or about Dec. 1,” said Marshalltown Police Chief Lon Walker. “While he is an illegal alien in possession of fraudulent documents, this case has nothing to do with the Tuesday ICE raid at the Swift plant in Marshalltown.”

Hernandez was taken to the Marshall County Jail, where he was being held on $13,000 bond.

A Class C felony is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. A Class D felony is punishable by up to five years in prison.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has also placed a hold on the man.

This is a false statement. This man is no Marshalltown man since he is not a permanent resident in the U.S. He is a man from another town in another country.
