PORTLAND, Ore. - Two local workers who lost their jobs in a federal immigration raid this past summer are now suing their former employer.

Maria del Dilar Delgado and Abdia Cortez Liberio have filed a class action lawsuit against Fresh Del Monte Produce in north Portland.

The two are suing for back pay and unpaid overtime. The suit also claims the workers were refused rest breaks.

Over 160 workers were arrested on immigration violations during the raid in June of 2007.

This should be a natural deterrent for companies that would hire illegals. They will have to sweat these lawsuits until the statute of limitations runs on every illegal who was paid improperly. Poetic justice.

actually I hope they bankrupt this company and get millions and millions and millions of dollars... maybe that is what is going to take to get these companies to stop pulling for open borders
