Fox says Mexicans will do jobs even blacks won't do.
MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexican President
Vicente Fox called recent U.S. measures to stem illegal immigration a step back for bilateral relations on Friday and said Mexican migrants do jobs "that not even blacks want to do."
In comments likely to raise the temperature of the immigration debate, Fox defended the role of undocumented Mexican workers in the United States to a group of Texas business people meeting in Mexico.
"There is no doubt that Mexicans, filled with dignity, willingness and ability to work are doing jobs that not even blacks want to do there in the United States," he said in a speech broadcast in part on local radio and reported on newspaper web sites.
Fox said recent, tougher measures against immigrants do not represent "the road we should be building between friends and partners."
Mexico has been seeking an accord with Washington for years to make it easier for millions of illegal Mexican immigrants to live and work in the United States. The country expects to repatriate this year more than 250,000 foreigners, mostly Central Americans headed for the U.S. border.
Mexican hopes were raised early last year when President Bush proposed a temporary worker program but it has become bogged down in Congress.
A key partner in U.S. border security, Mexico is upset at new U.S. controls on foreign-born people, including tougher rules to obtain drivers' licenses.
Congressional Republicans attached the immigration changes to legislation providing $82 billion in emergency funds for fighting in
Iraq and
Afghanistan. Bush is expected to sign the legislation into law soon.
The law, approved unanimously by the Senate on Tuesday, waives environmental rules to allow the extension of a fence on the border between California and Mexico to stop illegal immigrants. Mexico calls the measure "overly extreme."
But Fox said he was encouraged by a bill put forward on Thursday by Sens. John McCain, an Arizona Republican, and Edward Kennedy, a Massachusetts Democrat, to allow some of the estimated 10 to 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States to get legal jobs and eventual citizenship.
"I hope President Bush will support and push the initiative, as he has publicly agreed. I have to take his word and hope he delivers," Fox said. It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.

Vincente...when it comes to Immigration and ABOUT 1,000,000 other issues in the United States....the US President CAN'T DELIVER ANYTHING......without the consent of the American People. Oh, sure, a US President can try to sneak around, cut deals behind our back, have long deep conversations with the likes of you about a World with a Global Elite and a Mass of Orderly Drones...but Vinny:
That's just DREAM TALK....that's just FLIRTIN' WITH IMPEACHMENT AND A TRIAL FOR TREASON....by a US President....
In otherwords.....that's a Promise this President can't keep and should have never made.
He played ya....Vinny, you silly fool.

Mexican and Black relations are already at an all time low here in the Dallas area. This is not going to help.
As a black male, you know I'm highly irriated about this. Jobs blacks won't even do? I read, "Hey Mr. white Texas businessman, cut the blacks out and let me send you the workers you need". "After all, we all know they are lazy and go for nothing". As for me, no more mexican food. No more talking to or acknowledging mexicans. They have invaded and have enlisted the help of white business men from Texas against citizens of the United States. I sure wish I knew what businesses the are from.FAR BEYOND DRIVEN

"Hey Mr. white Texas businessman, cut the blacks out and let me send you the workers you need".
We have to take a lesson from history. Look at the way our government caused the original owners of this land to live. Put on RESERVATIONS...living well below the poverty line. Struggling for existence.
We can't let this happen. We've been warned.

Let me ask all of you this...
First Bush allows the invasion and now he is taling about shutting down about 30 military bases. I don't know about you but I see where this is leading! He is making sure the American citizens are helpless to defend themselves. He is setting the government up to be totalitarian. What democracy? Bush is our enimies best friend in that he is destroying this country FOR THEM!

But, I don't feel defenseless. We still have millions of ex-military (two of them right here in the family) that haven't forgotten their training. We wouldn't be any pushover for a takeover.
I did see that short blurb...I believe it was on Dobbs....about America training lots of foreign troops...right here in America....did anyone else see that? My instant response was 'uhoh'...

Judy--I may be way off base on this it seems like Fox looks down on black people. That's just a wild guess on my part.
Have you ever heard of a president who seems hellbent on shipping his own people OUT of his country? I mean have you ever heard of that? I've seen governments getting nasty over people leaving their countries, but I have never in my life seen a government getting angry when another country won't take their people!
What the hell is going on here?

I'm curious, everyone.
Did anyone see this story reported in their local paper today?
I get two daily papers, and it wasn't in either of them.
If a city councilmember anywhere in America suggested we needed illegal immigrants because they'd do jobs "even blacks won't do", it would make the front page of the NY Times.
The president of Mexico says it, and it's absolute silence, at least where I live. It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.
