Robert Alonso Reporting

Two people, one an illegal alien, are in jail after police arrested them for transporting cocaine. Rockingham County deputies found the latest stash yesterday inside a Chevy Suburban that was originally stopped for erratic driving. The driver, 26-year-old Martin Santana Rodriguez, is now facing deportation as well as narcotics charges.

The other cocaine bust was more significant. 40 pounds of the white stuff was found on Monday in a Ford truck stopped by police on Maple Avenue in Burlington. 22-year-old Felipe DeJesus Rivera of Kernersville is charged with trafficking. The street value of the cocaine is estimated at over 400 thousand dollars.
