A group of about 35 protesters said they were tired of hiding the fact that their parents illegally brought them to the country as children, saying they consider themselves Americans.
Never ceases to amaze me how just because they THINK something is so, that it must be true. The mindset of these illegals is just, well, mind blowing.

Most of San Bernardino protestors released

At least nine of the 12 people arrested in the San Bernardino immigration protest Tuesday have been released from jail, according to booking logs.
Police took protestors into custody after they sat down in the middle of streets and refused to leave.

The group gathered in front of the Department of Homeland Security's field office on Rialto Avenue and later in front of San Bernardino City Hall at the corner of D and Third streets.

Members of the group claimed to be in the country illegally. They were protesting the Immigration and Customs Enforcement program 287 (g), which partners ICE with local law enforcement in immigration enforcement.

Ramon Valdivia, 19, of Boyle Heights and Victor Pena, 20, of Alhambra remained in jail Wednesday afternoon, booking logs showed. But seven others had been released from jail, two teens had been handed over to their parents Tuesday and the status of another suspect, 21-year-old Mariam Vasquez of Los Angeles, was unknown. The other people arrersted were identified as: Alma DeJesus, 28, of Los Angeles, Nelly Gutierrez, 19, of Wilmington, Anayely Saguilan, 20, of Pasadena, Maria Rodriguez, 18, of Claremont, Claudia Hernandez, 24, of Paramount, Alex Aldana, 25, of Boyle Heights and Isabel Perez, 23, of San Bernardino.

SAN BERNARDINO: No immigration detainers against protesters

Federal officials are not pursuing potential deportation of the 12 illegal immigrants arrested in Tuesday’s protest in downtown San Bernardino against federal immigration programs and policies.

The protesters were arrested on suspicion of unlawful assembly and refusal to disperse after blocking traffic on streets in front of San Bernardino City Hall and a local office of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

ICE routinely screens jail inmates in San Bernardino County for immigration violations. The county’s collaboration with ICE was one of the reasons for the protest. In many cases, ICE places detainers on suspected illegal immigrants. They are then transferred to ICE custody after serving time in jail or prison.

But the agency’s policy is to concentrate its resources on criminals and others deemed high priority.

“Consistent with the agency’s current enforcement priorities, no detainers were placed on these subjects,” ICE said in a statement.

The 10 adults who were arrested were released Wednesday from West Valley Detention Center, according to jail records. The two 17-year-olds were released to their parents.
