Illegal Aliens Get Reduced-Rate Activism Courses at UCLA

Young America's Foundation's Reagan Ranch Center Intern and UCLA student Katie Mellon represented YAF on Fox News to discuss the "National Dream University."
UCLA is working with the National Labor College (arm of organized labor) to create this project, and what's most shocking is that the program offers college credit cheaper to illegal immigrants than UCLA offers its other courses to its in-state residents.
The cost of 18 credits at the "National Dream University" is $2,400. The cost of 18 credits for in-state students at UCLA is $6,642.
Worse, National Dream University requires its students to be ideological activists.
From the Nation Dream University website:
“To be considered for admission to National Dream University you must:
(1) have graduated from a U.S. high school;
(2) a minimum cumulative 2.7 GPA;
(3) demonstrate commitment to immigrant/labor rights and social justice;
(4) and submit a complete application by October 5, 2012.”
That's right. You must be committed to "immigrant/labor rights and social justice."
These are common leftist code words for higher spending on public sector unions and wealth redistribution.
UCLA is using taxpayer money to train leftist activists, instead of using it to bring down their high tuition. California and the UC system are already nearly bankrupt, and adding programs like this are making students such at YAF's Katie Mellon disappointed.
