    Illegal charged with murder

DeKalb officials have arrested a Mexican national, previously deported from the U.S. and believed back in the country illegally, and charged him with murder.

The charge relates to the recent discovery of a body in Crossville.

Alberto Trejo, 24 of Geraldine, was charged Wednesday with the murder of a Hispanic man. Marshall County District Attorney Steve Marshall tentatively identified the murder victim as Antonio Paz.

Murder warrants for Trejo originated from Marshall County, where it’s believed Trejo killed Paz sometime in late June or early July at a home in the Martling community, near Albertville.

Trejo then allegedly took Paz’s body to Crossville.

Marshall said it’s believed Paz was also in the country illegally. He said authorities previously deported Trejo from the U.S., but said he didn’t know the exact circumstances. He said it’s unknown how long Trejo has been back in the country.

Marshall said it’s suspected both Trejo and Paz were “significantly involved” in the local drug trade. He said the two were acquainted.

Marshall said an ongoing investigation led to the discovery of Paz’s body last week. Police found it buried under a shed and covered in concrete, at 464 County Road 37.

DeKalb County Sheriff Cecil Reed said investigators suspected Trejo in the murder “since the beginning.”

Trejo, who has a listed address of 1272 County Road 329, was already in the DeKalb County Jail on separate charges.

Reed said Fort Payne police picked Trejo up July 7 and charged him with unlawful possession of a firearm, giving a false name to law enforcement officers, and obstruction of justice. Reed said it’s unknown why Trejo was in Fort Payne.

Trejo was transferred to the county jail because the firearm possession charge is a felony.

Trejo initially gave his name to police as Alberto T. Gabriel Aguirre, and that’s the name he was being held under until Wednesday, Reed said.

He said Trejo was wanted on an active warrant from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement division of Homeland Security.

Because of that, Trejo was already being held without benefit of bond. Reed said it’s unknown how long Trejo, a Mexican national, has been back.

Reed said Marshall County issued a warrant late Tuesday charging Trejo with the murder, and deputies served the warrant at the jail Wednesday.

He said it hasn’t been determined whether Trejo will remain in custody in DeKalb or be transferred to Marshall County.

Richey Davies, an occupant of the home at Crossville, was arrested in connection with the discovery of a large quantity of drugs there.

At one time, Reed said Davies was being considered as a “person of interest” in connection with the murder.

Reed said Wednesday Davies is now “less of a person of interest in regard to the murder than he once was, but we still haven’t completely closed out the investigation.”

Reed said he believes that will happen within the next few days. He said it’s now unclear whether or not the murder is related to Hispanic gang activity as was earlier suspected.

Marshall said authorities interviewed dozens of people and issued four separate search warrants while trying to solve the murder.

Marshall County authorities searched the Martling residence last Wednesday and found parts of a human skeleton, believed to be from Paz’s body.

Marshall said Trejo allegedly shot and killed Paz, attempted to burn the body, then cut an arm and a leg from the body before placing it into a trash can and taking it to the shed in Crossville, where he buried it.

My local news out of Huntsville said he was dismembered and burried under concrete in his shed. Yet not one peep, to my knowledge, that the perpetraitor was illegal.

Why is it we never hear these stories on the national news programs, like Nancy (dis)Grace, Greta van Scarface, Geraldo Revolta, etc. They always have these repetitive stories about cruise ship murders, girls missing on troplical islands or alleged LaCrosse player rapes of whacked out strippers.

These stories get shown endlessly night after night, but never any reports on the masses of murders and sexual assaults commited by illegal aliens. What will it take to get these reported by the national news? A sexual assault and murder of a child by an illegal? Oh yeah, that's already happened, numerous times. A gang rape of women by a horde of illegal day laborers? Oh wait, that's already happened too.
