The left in America has a long-standing plan. It's one they've worked tirelessly to implement – because it's central to their dream of a socialist America governed under the thumb of supra-national government.

Like so much the left does, the bulk of their efforts to achieve this most central goal in their agenda has been "behind the scenes." That's because they feared America's response, should their plans become known.

One bit of their goal, however, required some pushing, shoving and a muted cry or two from the communist closets and academic towers where most leftists dwell. That plan was driver's licenses for illegal immigrants.

Gov. Elliot Spitzer, formerly the chief law enforcement officer of the once-great state of New York, made the mistake of stepping too far out of the closet to shout his encouragement for "illegals on wheels."

The left, as dumb as it is, knows that the dream of a socialist America governed by a swooning leftist elite under the thumb of either the United Nations or a European-style "Amero Union" would bring enough Second Amendment adherents out into the streets that their reign would be, quite literally, short-lived.

A majority of American voters, unlike the left's "true believers," recognize that communism has had its day in Russia and Eastern Europe. They have no desire to participate in it – or its downfall. And as painful as their own situation may be at the time, most voters recognize that as long as you have freedom, you have the ability to improve your lot in life. It's when you need permission from a party bureaucrat to move from the country to the city, from one town to another, to get an operation or change jobs – well, then your chances of changing your lot in life are dim, indeed.

So, how does the left plan to "migrate" America into a socialist utopia governed by super-bureaucrats? Well, by winning elections, of course!

"Now wait a minute," you might be saying. "I thought you just said that most Americans would never vote for this?"

Well, that's true. So to win with such a platform in an election, the left needs to either:


Prevent opponents of their plan from voting, or

Pander to the disenfranchised and use their sheer numbers to overpower opponents' votes.
The first approach – for instance, slashing the tires of Republican "get out the vote" vans in Wisconsin – may work on a local election, but a coordinated effort conducted nationwide would be difficult to accomplish without the plans leaking out.

That leaves the second alternative: Overwhelm a majority of voting Americans who would never sanction such nonsense with people who would.

The biggest group of "disenfranchised Americans," as the left sees it, are those who have stolen their citizenship by entering this country illegally. There are, by many estimates, as many as 38 million of them. What if they voted?

These are in fact the very people to whom the left wants to give driver's licenses. Perhaps that's because at the same time, the clerk processing the license must ask, "Would you like to register to vote?" Motor voter. Bill Clinton. 1993.

In most states, it's illegal for that motor vehicle clerk to ask, "Are you a citizen?" How did that come to be? Because Democrat politicians, paying off their base for re-election, have made it illegal. Think of it – you're registering someone to vote, and you'll lose your job and perhaps go to jail for asking him if he is a citizen!

Eliot Spitzer's plan – and it is the Democrat establishment's plan – is quite simply to rob you and me of our voting franchise. And they're willing to flood the country with illegals to do it.

There's nothing "new" about the left's utopian dreams. Over 60 million citizens of Russia and China were murdered by their own governments – to usher in the Communist Party's version of a socialist paradise. Extinguishing your vote to make it happen here means nothing to them. Nothing. Nor does America. All that matters to the left is extinguishing human freedom, because that's what stands between them and their dream.

It's amazing what semantic games they are capable of playing---meanwhile using skewed statistics--to bolster their arguments. The influx of illegal aliens has distorted all of our calculations of the percentage of the population "living in poverty" and therefore "needing" an array of social services.

I do wish, though, they would quit referring to them as 'the left'.
Why won't they wake up and smell the coffee and look at what the 'the right' has been doing for 20 years - and just look at what this President has done?

It isn't a right/left thing - it is a political thing and as long as we try to paint it as rep/dem, we are lost. WE are right where they want us, deluded and divided.

Adore that term!

Perhaps Elliot intended "illegals on wheels" to help deliver 'meals on wheels'.
