Minutemen redux
Mar, 03 2006 - 2:40 AM

VANCOUVER/CKNW(AM980) - A private army of Americans will be patrolling the Canada - U-S Border again starting April first.
The Minuteman Civil Defence Corps patrolled the border between Blaine and Sumas sporadically last year.

They say they do it to act as extra eyes and ears for U-S authorities.

The group's website says the Secure our Borders campaign has attracted 65-hundred volunteers and over 120-thousand supporters.

It also says they will maintain a "no contact" policy, except to provide water to illegal aliens found in distress in the wilderness.

The private army will be watching the border for the whole month of April.
