Illegal immigrant arrests drop in W. Texas, N.M.

DEMING, N.M. — Arrests of illegal immigrants in West Texas and New Mexico are down substantially this month compared with previous years.

The U.S. Border Patrol says agents assigned to the El Paso sector made 8,000 arrests between June 1 and June 23. Last year, agents arrested 15,000 suspected illegal immigrants and in 2007, 75,000 were caught.

Border Patrol spokesman Doug Mosier says illegal immigrants are either going to other areas to try to cross into the U.S. from Mexico or not coming at all.

The El Paso sector covers West Texas and all of New Mexico

It's just amazing the amount of propaganda that is fed to us from our liberal news media. Lies, lies and manipulation of the truth. Of course there are less arrests, there are less people working to do the arrests and less hour worked to do it. I am sure factors like the Border Patrol feeling like their hands are tied might have a little to do with their effort while on the job. Why bother when the boss doesn't want you doing your job. The know they are just there for show.

Ditto! That's the question that needs to be focused on. Not sure what the statistics are, but something like only one in four are apprehended crossing the border illegally.

So while 8,000 were apprehended, another 24,000 made it by untouched, free to breed more anchor babies and further destroy this nation.
