ICE suspends placing detainees in Farmville jail

    By the Associated Press
    February 20, 2009
FARMVILLE, Va. - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has suspended placing detainees at the Piedmont Regional Jail and is investigating the facility's medical care.

The moves follow the Nov. 28 death of 48-year-old Guido Newbrough, an immigration detainee at the jail near Farmville.

According to autopsy reports, Newbrough had an untreated bacterial infection and died of organ failure.

Prince William County contracts with the immigration agency to hold non-citizen detainees from Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia who are awaiting deportation.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Cori Bassett says the agency doesn't plan to stop using the jail as a holding facility. Bassett says placements are suspended while the agency monitors conditions at the jail.

    Illegals are terrorists

Dump them all off in Mexico and shoot them if they try to come back into our country. Problem solved.
