Illegal immigrant pleads guilty to assaulting 6-year-old girl

CARLISLE - An illegal immigrant faces a 3- to 6-year state prison sentence for molesting a 6-year-old girl in East Pennsboro Twp.

Alexander Galindo, 32, pleaded guilty to aggravated indecent assault Tuesday before Cumberland County Judge Kevin A. Hess just before he was to go on trial.

The sentence is part of a plea agreement, District Attorney David Freed said yesterday. "It's our understanding that he's going to be deported after serving his prison sentence," he said.

Freed said Galindo is in the U.S. illegally, but did not know his country of origin.

Galindo, who had lived in Enola, was accused of molesting the girl repeatedly at his home between November 2004 and April 2005.

Galindo is in Cumberland County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail.
