Border Patrol agents found immigrants hiding underneath a flatbed trailer

SARITA – Border Patrol agents say a canine team alerted them to an area underneath a flatbed trailer Tuesday.

Agents looked under the flatbed trailer and discovered a piece of plywood connecting two metal rails running the length of the trailer. Agents looked inside the opening of the compartment and discovered four illegal immigrants. We’re told the illegals appeared to be in good health.

The driver is a 30-year-old U.S. citizen from San Benito. He was arrested.

Border Patrol agents say the illegals entered the U.S. on Monday near Brownsville and paid a smuggler to conceal them under the trailer. They were on their way to Houston when they were arrested. The two men and two women will be deported.
