    Messin’ with Sasquatch

Late Wednesday, just before the Senate offices closed for the day, I was feeling pretty burned out from making calls, etc. all day. I figured I needed a little fun. So instead of going outside for some fresh air, I called Dick Durbin’s office. Here’s how it went, after initial pleasantries:

Like the Sasquatch part!!!! Truthfully though, I think Sasquatch is smarter than Durbin.

After talking wth Durbin's office, I called Hagel and Lugar since they are also sponsors. Asked the same questions, and perhaps unbelievably, didn't get hung up on, though there were some "pregnant pauses" from staffers. They wouldn't debate me, but I had them on the phone several minutes giving them my laundry list of problems with the DREAM Act and their senator's sponsorship of it.

Now, I'm calling Hatch, another sponsor.

Amazingly good, I hope you depressed the staffers enough that they pass on your message.

Had a good arguement with one of Hatch's female staffers. She insists that the DREAM Act is not amnesty and that it is a great, fair and good bill. That got me going. She also insisted that Sen. Hatch represents Utah and he's not really concerned with what residents of other states think.

    ALIPAC'ers have at him:

    Hatch, Orrin G.- (R - UT) Class I
104 HART SENATE OFFICE BUILDING WASHINGTON DC 20510
    (202) 224-5251

NOTE: Hatch is a co-sponsor of the Nightmare Act and is definately for it.

Hey Zeezil-I just got off the phone with Sen. Hatch's office-Said a friend of mine(hope you don't mind) was told by an aide that Sen. Hatch isn't concerned with people from other states opinions-their answer-" Thats right we only pass along messages from members of his state" -so I guess maybe our calls aren't getting passed along if the senate has caller id?

Head 'em up,move 'em out Rawhide!

Thanks for the update, Rawhide. Now I'm beginning to see the picture. Some Senators have instructed their staffers not to pass on any comments on legislation that isn't from in-state constituents. Now I'm really mad as hell !!!
