Illegal immigrants prepare to leave kids

Lilburn, GA (WGCL) -
On July 1, law enforcement will begin cracking down on illegal immigrants under Georgia's new immigration law. Some parents are preparing to leave their kids behind.

Our Lady of the Americas Catholic Mission in Lilburn has a Hispanic congregation. Most of the children were born in the U.S. and are U.S. citizens. Many of their parents are illegal immigrants.

They look to Reverend Luis Guillermo for guidance.

"The idea is to assist the parents to prepare for the law - prepare for what will happen with the children if they had any problems with police, an arrest or anything," said Guillermo.

Now, the parents are preparing legal documents giving temporary custody to a family member or friend who is in the U.S. legally. If they are arrested and deported, someone will be able to take care of the children.

Ruperto De La Cruz is a notary public. He said he has already helped 30 families with temporary custody documents..

"I am surprised because I didn't know that was going to be the reaction of the people. I was thinking because maybe they would move to another state. This is a precaution. As the church explained to them - be prepared," said De La Cruz.

Reverend Guillermo tells his parishioners they need to be prepared for the worst. He also stresses they need to remember family.

"The children cannot stay here alone. They need to renew with the family with the parents," said Guillermo.

He said the temporary custody agreement is for one year.

The Archdiocese of Atlanta says any assistance their churches provide is within the boundaries of the law.

These kids should be citizens of the home nations of illegal aliens and would be with them if it werent for the misinterpretation of it that gives them citizenship...

No country can afford birthright citizenship: We're drowning in years of mistakes and yet they continue.

To my knowledge as far as advanced economies only the US and Canada still grant automatic citizenship to children born to illegal aliens. Other countries have wised up and it's time we do also!

Birthright citizenship is bankrupting our states and our country. It has to end.

Again, "These children have only their ILLEGAL parents to blame; they became ILLEGALS when their parents entered the U.S. as ILLEGALS and setup their own Children as ILLEGALS. They most likely continued the invasion with the Abuse of the 14th Amendment to create an Anchor for U.S. Citizens to furnish benefits! The Elitist Politicians and Elitist Contributors are socializing benefits to the ILLEGALS for the ILLEGAL EMPLOYERS, veiled as social programs for U. S. Citizens, on the backs of U.S. Citizens through our assets such as the Education System, Social Security, and Health Care not to mention our National Security while privatizing the profits for themselves! The reason the ILLEGALS have the Anchors, furnishing a opportune SOB story, is to stay in the U.S. to receive the benefits, their Anchors are nothing more than throwaways for their agenda; if they were important to the parents they would take their children with them when they returned to their HOME countries . They do not want to be Citizens of the U.S. only to the extent that it would allow the ILLEGALS to remain in the U.S. for our tax money and they will return south of the border as soon as they have drained the U.S. Dry. "

Big Religion, the hierarchy of any church, is like any other Special Interest Group, just follow the money. Most Special Interest Groups are only concerned for "their" agenda of profit and/or power, not the people they pretend to speak for or save from harm. Something about living in a Glass House, the Church should be able to clean their own house before they tell others what they are doing wrong! Of course they are expecting money to flow in from "our" Federal Government, Citizen Taxpayers, to assist with his Big Religion ministering to the ILLEGALS or they just may receive some funds from the ILLEGAL EMPLOYERS who benefit from their ILLEGALS! Doubtful they will get any monetary help from the ILLEGAL EMPLOYERS they of course expect the United States Taxpayers to pick up the bill for their ILLEGALS while they soak up all of the PROFIT, you have to admit the SOAKING of United States Taxpayers is good!
