PHOENIX -- Republican state legislators are critical of today's massive immigration march and rally in downtown Phoenix.

They say the United States should not excuse illegal immigrants from the rule of law.

State Sen. Robert Blendu of Litchfield Park says those participating in the march don't want immigration reform, "they want their form of immigration."

The state House and Senate cut short their respective floor sessions before noon today in anticipation of the march's afternoon arrival at the Capitol.

Citing security concerns and saying that clogged streets that could trap lawmakers and their staffs at the Capitol, legislative leaders decided last week to shut down the floor sessions early. l
