No-match letters used to go out regularly; I heard an employer of a small landscaping company say he used to receive them, "send em back in to the government" and go on about his business working with illegal alien employees.
It seems the government mostly turned a blind eye towards these small businesses even when the no match letters were sent!

This is really just a slow and infective effort that appears to be enforcement of immigration laws.

The No Match letters that Obama blocked would have done the same thing but at a much faster rate, expelled a higher volume of illegal aliens and at the cost of a postage stamp per company vs paying wages of government employees to look at the files in a few companies. The travel expenses alone would justify the cost of the letters. Government waste.

This is just another Obama immigration enforcement boondoggle.

President Obama, in a speech last week, explained a two-step immigration policy. He promised tough enforcement against illegal immigration, in workplaces and at the border, saying it would prepare the way for a legislative overhaul to give legal status to millions of illegal immigrants already in the country. White House officials say the enforcement is under way, but they acknowledge the overhaul is unlikely to happen this year.
In other words, this is just a small show to try to get Congress and the American public to swallow the AMNESTY poison that will allow them to end all enforcement.

Yes they think that if they get rid of some illegals that we might sit back and relax. We cant do that . We cant let amnesty happen. Here is the danger....if they get rid of large numbers of illegals because of audits, but then there is an amnesty...what would be the terms of that amnesty? One of the terms would be that the person has been here for awhile. Meantime, say that large numbers of illegals self-deport, and then there is an amnesty. Many, if not most, of those self-deported illegals will return to take advantage of the amnesty. THEY WILL BE ABLE TO PROVE THEY HAVE BEEN HERE FOR AWHILE. But there will be no record of their departure in the meantime. So in the end, all the current illegals would be amnestied. I hope my explanation is not too convoluted. But by not arresting the illegals, they leave them free to participate in an amnesty. If they arrest them, they would have to wait ten years. Now it is even more important to fight amnesty.

But I still like it that we dont have to pay for incarceration or legal fees. However, an amnesty would be even more devastating if most illegals self-deport. ...just because more of them would qualify and it would encourage all the former illegals to return....not to mention new illegals.

This stragegy will not result in illegals leaving the country on their own accord, it will only cause them to look for and find employment elsewhere. If this so called "culture of compliance" by employers actually begins to work and employers start to really fear criminal prosecution for hiring illegals, then what will happen is that these illegals will be unemployed and you will see most of these illegals becoming homeless and resorting to crime to survive. Homelessness will increase dramatically in cities and towns across America, and the jails and prisons will become even more overburdened than they already are now, since they will be out stealing and committing crimes to support themselves.

They have these illegals in hand and do not deport them. That really shows the world we mean business when it comes to HOMELAND SECURITY!
