County delegate’s efforts on behalf of illegal immigrants overlook citizens’ needs

My pockets [were] already fleeced by Maryland Gov. [Martin] O’Malley and the Democratic-controlled state legislature’s record income and sales tax increases; Del. Victor Ramirez, D-Prince George’s, now demands my pants, as well. Ramirez has announced that he wants illegal aliens to qualify for in-state tuition at Maryland’s four-year and community colleges and will shortly introduce legislation to do just thatCurrently, illegal alien college students in Maryland are treated equally to out-of-state citizen students. At the University of Maryland, College Park, that means paying approximately $11,104 per year vs. $3,984 for in-state residents, a significant difference. And when you multiply that tuition savings times the 39,000, and rapidly growing, number of primarily Hispanic illegal alien students in Maryland, I’m not going to be wearing pants anytime soon.
Ramirez ignores the fact that the illegal aliens have no moral or legal right to be in Maryland or that it is against the law to aid and abet illegal aliens. He disregards the special treatment in-state tuition would give to illegal alien students over the students of fellow citizens across the nation wanting to attend Maryland schools. He conveniently forgets about the large number of Maryland citizen students who will be displaced from limited college slots by illegal aliens, including African Americans from his own district. And he overlooks the in-state tuition readily available at Universities in Mexico City, San Salvador, Guatemala City and Tegucigalpa.

Ramirez is also a strong supporter of drivers’ licenses, non-enforcement of federal warrants and unlimited social services for illegal aliens. It is lawless politicians like him that have made Maryland a prime destination for illegal aliens. His policies have caused overcrowded and failing schools, bankrupted hospitals, voter fraud, growing gang violence and crime, and jails bursting with illegal alien criminals. Help Save Maryland members will fight Ramirez and other pandering politicians to deny illegal aliens in-state tuition.
